1. To refill the Design e-motion pencil, turn the cap clockwise to eject any remaining lead, then turn it counterclockwise 3-4 times to retract the internal mechanism. 2. Insert a new 1.4mm Faber-Castell lead into the front piece until firmly held, and continue retracting the lead to the desired writing length by turning the cap counterclockwise. 3. Turning the cap clockwise will advance the lead, while turning it counterclockwise will retract the lead.
