What is Antineoplastics/diazoxide: Oedema and lack of efficacy: 4 case reports about?
## Antineoplastics/diazoxide Oedema and lack of efficacy: 4 case reports A study described one man and three women aged 30-64 years, out of whom the three women exhibited lack of efficacy of sunitinib, everolimus, streptozocin and gimeracil/oteracil/tegafur while being treated for metastatic gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NENs). The man developed oedema while receiving diazoxide for hyperinsulinaemia [dosages and routes not stated]. Case 1: The 39-year-old man, who had a history of GEP-NENs, presented with insulinoma. Examinations revealed tumour in the pancreatic tail and multiple bilobar metastatic lesions in the right hepatic lobe. He received selective arterial secretagogue injection (SASI) with calcium gluconate for determining the lesions responsible for the hyperinsulinaemia. He started receiving diazoxide and sunitinib. Three months later, size of the lesions was not increased. The diazoxide dose was increased. He developed diazoxide related adverse event of oedema [duration of treatment to reaction onset and outcome not stated]. The culprit hepatic lesions were resected. He underwent partial hepatectomy, caudate lobe resection and distal pancreatectom
