Residents of New Salem wrote a letter to the Planning Board to propose guidelines for a special permit for the New Salem Museum project. They support the museum but want reasonable limits. They propose limits on environmental permits, parking, noise/hours/alcohol, event use, permit violations, and a two-year renewable permit. For events, residents endorsed either no private events, indoor-only private events, or limited indoor/outdoor private events up to 4 times per year.
