This study compares the efficacy and safety of pantoprazole 20 mg and ranitidine 150 mg in treating mild gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Results showed that pantoprazole provided superior symptom relief rates after 2 and 4 weeks of treatment, with 80% of patients experiencing relief compared to 65% in the ranitidine group. Both medications were well tolerated, but pantoprazole demonstrated faster relief of symptoms and improved quality of life.
