The study evaluated the color changes of 4 composite materials (2 nano and 2 microhybrid) when immersed in various staining solutions for 24 hours. Coffee and red wine caused the most darkening, changing shades from A2 to A3-A4 or darker. Polishing reduced staining compared to unpolished surfaces. The nanofilled composites experienced less color change than microhybrids. The most intense staining occurred with coffee, red wine, grape juice, oral antiseptic and lipstick.
