This book offers the critical perspectives of 20 educators on some of the issues associated with facilitating instructional leadership, emphasizing the complex interplay between the character of schools as work settings, the orientations of principals and teachers toward their work, and the challenges of leading and improving schools at the end of the 20th century. The book is divided into four parts, each with several independently authored chapters. The chapters are by Martin Burlingame, C. M. Achilles, Arthur Blumberg, and William Greenfield.
