About this document

Clinical Audit of Emergency Admissions by Surya Wijaya is a document available to read on EtoBox.

A retrospective clinical audit was conducted on short stay emergency medical and geriatric admissions to assess their appropriateness. Of the 177 cases analyzed, 13 (7.3%) were considered inappropriate admissions. If all emergency admissions staying longer than 24 hours were assumed to be appropriate, the inappropriate admission rate would be 0.67%. Suggestions to improve appropriateness included longer observation periods, earlier specialist reviews, ad-hoc clinics, and strengthening primary care.
