The document describes the Rock of Behistun in Persia, where Darius the Great carved a trilingual inscription. It was on the main route between Baghdad and Tehran, about 65 miles from Hamadan, the site of ancient Ecbatana. The inscription contains the Persian text along with Susian and Babylonian versions. A new collation of the texts was made, with illustrations of the sculptures and inscriptions on the Rock.
