General Trias was formerly known as San Francisco de Malabon and has a population of over 243,000. It has a rich history in the Philippine revolution. The town was the site of the First Cry of Cavite in 1896 and hosted the historic Tejeros Convention in 1897, where Emilio Aguinaldo was elected president.
