What is A City Wide Approach to Reduce Ambulance Diversion: The Hamilton Model about?
After implementation LWT's averaged 22.4 per month(.92%). Pre and post implementation statistical analysis was determined for LWT's as well as the LWT rates. After confirmation of acceptable normality a 2 tailed t-test was utilized to confirm a p value of less than .01. This dramatic decrease in LWT's was demonstrated despite increasing volume trends during the study period. Conclusion: Implementation of bedside registration significantly reduced LWT's from our emergency department. This procedure may prove a worthy intervention at other institutions in reducing the rate of patients leaving without treatment.
