What is Limited Edition : Voices of Women, Voices of Feminism about?

This book is an introductory text and reader for use in Women's Studies. Feminist activists, teachers, students of Women's Studies and women in the paid and unpaid labour force, speak about their own experiences of feminism and the difference it has made and continues to make in their public and private lives. The feminism espoused by this collection is not so much a set of shared beliefs about the world as a common standpoint towards it--the standpoint of women. To take this standpoint is to look at the world from the perspective of those who have been systematically excluded from society simply because they are women. This standpoint does not imply a common view or common consciousness, psychology or "nature" amongst women, but rather a mutual experience of exclusion and subordination.
