A power supply unit (PSU) converts mains AC power to low-voltage regulated DC power for computer components. Modern PSUs use switched-mode power supplies to provide +3.3V, +5V, +12V, -5V and -12V voltages. There are two main PSU form factors: AT and ATX. ATX PSUs can provide all standard voltages while AT only provides +5V, +12V, -5V and -12V.
