What is Personalized Movie Recommendation Prediction Using Reinforcement Learning about?

Current recommendation systems do not always meet users' needs because they are mainly based on demographic data and consumption histories. However, reinforcement learning makes it possible to continuously improve the accuracy of these recommendations taking into account the real-time interactions of the user with the system. This paper deals with the application of a model based on reinforcement learning for recommending movies to users on an online movie platform with a dataset of movie ratings (Movie Lens 100K). The problem is how to use this method to suggest relevant books to users based on their preferences and reading histories to get better results than other methods. The evaluation metrics used in this study are precision and recall. The main results show that the proposed reinforcement learning algorithm outperformed the baseline methods in terms of precision and recall. Specifically, the algorithm achieved a precision of 0.67 and a recall of 0.51 which represents a significant improvement compared to the baseline methods.
