The Greek origin myth describes the emergence of the early gods from Chaos. Chaos gave birth to Gaea (Earth), Tartarus, Eros, Erebus (darkness), and Night. Gaea mated with Uranus (Sky) and they produced the Titans including Cronos. Cronos overthrew his father Uranus and became the ruler, imprisoning some of his siblings. Cronos went on to rule until he was overthrown by his own son, Zeus, starting the reign of the Olympians.
