What is St. Philip Neri about?
St. Philip Neri experienced an intense experience of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost in 1544. He begged fervently for graces and gifts from the Holy Spirit and became so inflamed with divine love that he collapsed to the ground, unable to stand. Though filled with unspeakable joy, his heart rejoiced so greatly in the Lord that his body trembled. He often called out that his human frailty could not bear such excessive happiness from the sweet fruit of the joy of the Holy Spirit.
