Robert Baden-Powell founded the Scouting movement in the early 1900s. He organized the first Scout camp on Brownsea Island in 1907. The movement grew rapidly and the first Scout meeting was held in London in 1909. Scouting later expanded internationally, including to the Philippines in 1914 and the establishment of the Philippine Council in 1923 and the Boy Scouts of the Philippines in 1936.
