This study compared the efficacy of ondansetron alone versus ondansetron plus dexamethasone for preventing postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) after gynecological laparoscopy. 51 patients were randomly assigned to receive either ondansetron alone or the drug combination. The combination was more effective at reducing nausea scores at various time points and had a lower overall incidence of vomiting, particularly delayed vomiting.
