What is Khulanama: Mutual Divorce Agreement about?

Nazima Begum and Ather Hussain were married in 2014 but disputes arose between them. After counseling failed, they agreed to an amicable divorce through khula, an Islamic divorce initiated by the wife. Nazima agreed to forego her deferred dower and maintenance in exchange for sole custody of their daughter. Both parties signed a khulanama document in the presence of witnesses stating the terms of their divorce and requesting the Quazi issue them divorce certificates.
