A b s t r a c t . CS2 can cleave only one metal-C-bond in aluminium, gallium and indiuni trialkyls, but the formed dialkylcarboxylates cannot be isolated as pure products. These compounds can be obtained by the reaction of the trialkyls (or their ether-adducts) with dithioacetic acid in a ratio 1 : 1. The derivatives of Ga and I n are monomer. The spectra ( I R and RAJIAX) show that they consist of planar MSSC four-membered ring skeletons.
