What is Brooklyn Public Library History about?

The document summarizes the history and design of the Brooklyn Public Library at Grand Army Plaza. It describes how the library was originally planned in 1892 but stalled until the 1930s when Milton Ferguson took over and commissioned architects Githens & Keally to design a new Art Deco building. Their simplified design used Indiana limestone and focused on efficiency. The building features a grand central lobby with wings radiating outward and large windows providing natural light.
