What is Resurgence of Mands in Autism Study about?

This study evaluated the resurgence of appropriate communication (mands) in three individuals with autism and histories of problem behavior through a series of experimental conditions. Results showed that resurgence occurred in 8 out of 9 tests, indicating that previously reinforced and extinguished mands reemerged after a second mand was reinforced and extinguished. The findings suggest potential strategies for preventing clinical relapse of problem behaviors by training multiple mands.
