The body is placed face down and fingers are inked and rolled onto fingerprint cards. 2) For bodies where rigor mortis has set in, the fingers must be straightened using pressure before inking. If the fingers are clenched, a spoon-shaped tool can be used to ink the fingers without rolling them. 3) If the skin is starting to peel away, it can be removed in one piece and placed on the examiner
