What is Khadi: Heritage, Process, and Revival about?

Khadi is a handspun, handwoven fabric traditionally made from cotton, but also silk and wool. It originated in India and was popularized during the independence movement. While khadi production declined in the late 20th century as machine-made fabrics increased, the government of Bangladesh and organizations are now taking initiatives to revive the khadi industry through financial support, festivals, and obtaining a Geographic Indication registration to protect the product.
