This paper discusses two methods for modeling grounding systems using the Electromagnetic Transients Program (EMTP). The first method uses a lumped pi-circuit model to divide the system into segments represented by RLC parameters. The second method uses a frequency-dependent transmission line model based on the traveling wave technique.
