CPU Functionality Explained: Flashcards by emona.mocku is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The CPU (central processing unit) is responsible for processing data and instructions in a computer. It fetches instructions from RAM, decodes them, and executes the instructions by processing data. During processing, the CPU performs operations like searching, sorting, calculating, and decision making. When a program is opened, its instructions and data are loaded onto the RAM. Then the CPU fetches the items from RAM using addresses and sends them to its components via buses to be processed.
