This study investigates the use of an ammonia dissociation catalyst to enhance the performance of a spark-ignition engine fueled by ammonia-gasoline. The catalyst, coated with 2% ruthenium, effectively decomposes ammonia into hydrogen, leading to improved engine power and reduced exhaust emissions, particularly at low to medium ammonia flow rates. Overall, the findings suggest that ammonia can serve as a viable hydrogen carrier for internal combustion engines, contributing to cleaner energy solutions.
