Cornet Robert Stetson was born in 1613 in Kent, England and died in 1703 in Scituate, Massachusetts. He married Honor Tucker and they had ten children. He held several offices including deputy to the General Court. His descendants included Joseph Stetson born in 1639, Robert Stetson born in 1670, Amos Stetson born in 1703 who was a cordwainer and fought in the French and Indian War, and John Stetson born in 1731 who fought in the Revolutionary War.
