My father transformed unused land in their backyard into a Japanese garden over 30 years ago. It now features a pond separated into two sections by a small bridge, with one section lined by rocks and the other by bamboo. Koi fish and lilies inhabit the pond, which is circulated by a 5-foot waterfall pumped from the pond over stone walls surrounding it.
