What is Henry VIII: Life, Wives, and Reformation about?
Henry VIII Tudor was King of England from 1509. He broke with the Roman Catholic Church in 1534 to divorce his first wife Catherine of Aragon so he could marry Anne Boleyn. This led to the English Reformation and the establishment of the Church of England with the king as its head. Henry later had Anne executed and married four more times, looking for a male heir but having only one son who survived childhood. His personal life and policies had huge consequences for England
