1. Bihar Legislative Council was established in 1913 with 43 members, including 24 elected and 19 nominated. It held its first session on 20 January 1913 under the presidency of Baron Charles Stuart Bayley, the first Chief Commissioner of Bihar and Orissa. 2. Bihar and Orissa were separated into two states on 1 April 1936.
