Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali was a revered Sufi saint of Golconda during the rule of the Qutb Shahi dynasty in the 16th century. He is credited with building the Hussain Sagar lake in Hyderabad in 1562 AD. He belonged to the lineage of the prophet Muhammad and was also connected to the famous Sufi saint Khaja Bande Nawaz Gesu Daraz of Gulbarga.
