About this document
Kangaroo Care Efficacy in NICU Pain Relief by Adriana da Silva Barros Andrade is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study evaluates the sustained efficacy of kangaroo care (KC) and 24% sucrose in reducing pain for preterm neonates undergoing repeated painful procedures in a neonatal intensive care unit. The findings indicate that KC remains effective over time and is comparable to sucrose alone, with no additional benefit from combining the two interventions. The results challenge the current recommendation of using sucrose as the primary pain management strategy for these infants.
