Can I read tert-Butoxychloromethylphenylsilane: synthesis and reactivity on EtoBox?

tert-Butoxychloromethylphenylsilane: synthesis and reactivity by A. S. Soldatenko; N. F. Lazareva is a Chemistry article available to read on EtoBox.

What is tert-Butoxychloromethylphenylsilane: synthesis and reactivity about?

The reaction of dichloromethylphenylsilane with tert-butanol in the presence of a hydrogen chloride acceptor gave tert-butoxychloromethylphenylsilane. The product is stable at room temperature for a week, undergoing disproportionation upon more prolonged storage. Its reaction with 2-substituted ethanols XCH 2 CH 2 OH (X = Cl, MeNH, PhCH 2 N, PhN) in the presence of bases gives the corresponding polyfunctional silanes MePhSi(OBu t )(OCH 2 CH 2 X). Alkylation of such N-substituted derivatives with (chloromethyl)triethoxysilane results in polyfunctional α-silyl amines MePhSi(OBu t )OCH 2 CH 2 N(R)CH 2 Si(OEt) 3 (R = Me, Bn). The structures of all synthesized compounds were confi rmed by IR and multinuclear NMR spectroscopy.
