What is Caesar about?
WAR 5 1. A letter from Caesar proposing peace terms was reluctantly read in the Roman Senate. It was unfavorably received. 2. Pompey prepared for war by summoning his supporters to Rome and filling the city with troops. The Senate then armed the magistrates with dictatorial power. 3. Upon learning of these developments, Caesar appealed to his soldiers stationed in Ravenna, who pledged their support for him. He then left his province of Gaul and entered Italy with his troops.
