What is Characteristics of Genetic Code about?
DNA replication takes place during the S phase of the cell cycle. DNA helicase unwinds and separates the DNA double helix, while DNA polymerase adds nucleotides to both strands in a semi-conservative manner. RNA primase synthesizes an RNA primer required for initiation of DNA synthesis on both the leading and lagging strands.
