About this document

Bubble Diagrams in Modern Organicism by Aslı KAYA is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This article discusses how concepts of the human body and natural order have influenced architecture. In the early 20th century, the view of the body shifted from a hygienic fortress protecting against germs, to a porous network of immunological reactions resembling the larger ecology. Similarly, architecture moved from fixed contained structures to complex functional networks. Bubble diagrams emerged as a way to embody these network concepts visually and organize architecture.
