About this document
Monocytes: Key Immune Cells Explained by MM Nabeel is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Monocytes are a type of white blood cell that can differentiate into macrophages and dendritic cells. They are involved in both innate and adaptive immunity. There are at least three subclasses of monocytes in human blood based on phenotypic receptor expression. Monocytes are produced in the bone marrow and circulate before migrating into tissues and differentiating into other immune cell types. They perform important functions such as phagocytosis, antigen presentation, and cytokine production.
