What is SOGIE Equality Bill Overview and Authors about?

The SOGIE Equality Bill aims to prevent discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression. Senator Risa Hontiveros first filed the bill in the Senate in 2016. It has the support of several other senators but has faced opposition from some like Senators Sotto and Pacquiao. If passed, the bill would fine or imprison those found guilty of discrimination. It has been refiled over several congressional sessions but has made slow progress.
