Can I read Crystal habit of Ir, Rh, Co and Fe particles formed in solution on EtoBox?

Crystal habit of Ir, Rh, Co and Fe particles formed in solution by Da-ling Lu; Ken-ichi Tanaka is a Engineering article available to read on EtoBox.

What is Crystal habit of Ir, Rh, Co and Fe particles formed in solution about?

Ir, Rh, Co and Fe particles formed in solution at different electrode potentials are investigated by means of transmission electron microscopy. Fcc single-crystalline particles of Ir grow at higher potentials; icosahedral and decahedral particles are formed at lower potentials, which is identical to the potential dependent crystal habit of Au particles grown in solution. Rh particles grown at -0.9 V contain a few decahedral particles, but no icosahedral particles are observed. Co particles have a hexagonal shape with preferential (00.l) faces. Fe particles grown below -1.2 V are bcc and prefer the (1 1 0) face. It is concluded that the growth of fcc, bcc as well as hcp transition-metal particles at potentials below a critical value prefers to expand the close-packed faces.
