1) The experiment analyzed the direction of magnetic fields and differences between magnetic fields of similar and opposite magnetic poles using bar magnets and iron filings. 2) For a single magnet, iron filings formed lines starting at the north pole and ending at the south pole, visualizing the magnetic field. 3) For magnets with similar poles, field lines curved away from each other with a gap in between. For opposite poles, field lines converged in the middle and iron filings connected the magnets.
