Walnut Park students raised $1,000 for breast cancer awareness by allowing students to wear pink to school for a $1 donation. The money was donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in memory of a school family member lost to breast cancer. Additionally, Walnut Park staff helped furnish the home of a school family in need by collecting donations of furniture and household items from teachers and staff.
