This article describes an outbreak of nicotinic acid food poisoning that affected 49 workers at a factory cafeteria in Israel. The workers developed flushing, warmth, itching and tingling within 5-10 minutes of eating meatballs for lunch. Laboratory analysis found high concentrations of nicotinic acid in the ground meat.
