What is Muenzinger 1938 - Vicarious Trial and Error at A Point of Choice about?

The article by Karl F. Muenzinger explores the concept of vicarious trial and error (VTE) in rats at choice points and its relationship to learning efficiency. It presents findings from experiments that indicate a correlation between the frequency of VTE and variations in learning efficiency, suggesting that conditions increasing VTE also enhance learning. The study concludes that VTE behavior peaks during the mastery of a habit and diminishes once the habit is automatized.
