What is Rasa Sayang: Lyrics and Meaning about?

This song by Team Malaysia describes the development of Malaysia since 1957. It notes the construction of tall buildings and cities, as well as increased infrastructure like cars, public transit, shopping malls, and tourism. However, it also points out that living costs have risen and many poor people can no longer afford to live in the cities due to foreign investment and gentrification. The song expresses the love the people feel for their country alongside the challenges of economic growth.
