What is LRR Self-Calibration for VNAs Explained about?
LRR is a new self-calibration procedure for vector network analyzers (VNAs) used to measure microwave devices. It consists of partly unknown standards (lines and reflections) placed at three consecutive positions that act as obstacles to eliminate systematic errors during calibration. Microstrip lines are commonly used as they can be easily fabricated using printed circuit technology. The LRR technique simplifies test fixtures and calibration while improving accuracy compared to traditional VNA calibration
