This systematic review and meta-analysis assessed whether ultrasound guidance reduces failures and adverse events of subclavian vein catheterization compared to the traditional landmark technique. The review included 10 randomized controlled trials with over 2,000 participants. Ultrasound guidance was found to reduce overall complication rates compared to the landmark method.
