The study investigates the high-temperature cyclic oxidation of Pt-rich γ-γ’ bond-coatings, focusing on the effects of platinum (Pt) and aluminum (Al) on thermal barrier coating (TBC) system lifetimes. Results indicate that Pt-only bond-coatings exhibit superior performance compared to β-(Ni,Pt)Al systems, with the failure primarily occurring at the TGO/bond-coating interface. The addition of Al during bond-coating fabrication did not enhance durability, and a reduction in Pt thickness improved performance
