The Romanian government passed an emergency ordinance providing tax amnesty that cancels penalties for overdue debts owed to the state budget as of September 30, 2015. To benefit, debtors must pay all principal debt by March 31, 2016. Those also paying 45.8% of interest by June 30 will have the remaining 54.2% of interest cancelled.
