The two graphs show the main sources of energy in the USA in the 1980s and 1990s. Oil remained the largest source of energy but decreased from 42% to 33% of total energy. Coal increased from 22% to 27% as the second largest source. Nuclear power doubled from 5% to 10% of total energy between the decades, experiencing the most dramatic change. Natural gas and hydroelectric power saw little change, remaining the second or fifth largest sources respectively.
