What is Sou Fujimoto about?

The Musashino Art University Museum & Library in Tokyo, Japan is designed by architect Sou Fujimoto. It consists of a 6,500 square meter double-story library housed within a spiral of 9-meter high wooden bookshelves. The bookshelves wrap the perimeter of the site and the glass exterior reflects the surrounding cherry blossom trees. The spiral plan allows for fluid circulation between the 200,000 books and creates interstitial spaces around the library entrance.
